Median Home Prices Show Strongest Gain in 6 Years

According to NAR (the National Association of Realtors), median sale prices of homes showed their strongest gain in six years (since January 2006). The median price of existing homes increased 10.1% to $177,400,  up from $161,100 in April 2011. This was the strongest year-to-year gain since January of 2006. The median home price in April also achieved its highest level since July 2010 when it was at $182,100.

110 New Homes to Be Built Near Bartholomew Street in Peabody MA

 

A long planned project is about to get underway in Peabody MA starting June 1. The Solimine Family hopes to invest $50 to $70 million constructing 110 moderately priced homes in Peabody. An effort has been made to address traffic on Bartholomew Street by creating a second access into & out of the development thru Lynn.

Filming is to begin soon for Adam Sandler's new movie "Grown Ups 2" here in town.  Some areas to be spotlighted are Old North Church in Old Town and some shooting will be done on Atlantic Ave. and Washington St.  Check out the stars!

Congratulations To Ruth Pino Who Was Awarded The Rotary's Paul Harris Fellow Award

Congratulations to Ruth Pino who was awarded the Rotary Club's prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award last evening at the Cruiseport in Gloucester. 

This honor, named after the Rotary's founder, is one of the Rotary's highest honors.  It is annually given to an exceptional Rotarian.
 
Ruth was also presented special citations from MA State Senate and House of Representatives by Senator Bruce Tarr and Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante.
 

 

160 New Apartments Proposed in Beverly

Omni Properties, based in Concord MA, is in discussions with the City of Beverly to build a 160 unit apartment complex that would be called "Village Green Beverly." The development would be located in the area of Kelleher's Pond. Beverly would receive $677,000 from the state as part of the deal.
